KEELBACK CAUSES PANIC AT COMPLEX IN NAMBOUR! I got a call out this evening to Mckillop Village Complex in Nambour to a possible Brown snake slithering through the hallways! When I arrived the residents were keeping watch from a safe distance! As I got closer it became clear it was a Keelback, non venomous freshwater snake! A pretty grumpy one at that! He posed for a few photographs which was good! All the kids were excited to see the snake, however I made it clear that even though snakes are awesome creatures it is best to not touch or go near them if you see one in the wild, especially if you dont know what it is! EDUCATION is the key! The kids asked plenty of questions and I was more than happy to stick around and answer them! They all wanted my business card as well which they were going to hand out for me :)! Another successful relocation, both for the snake, the residents and the education of the kids!
