KELVINS ONE REGRET Just after the final whistle yesterday, - TopicsExpress

KELVINS ONE REGRET Just after the final whistle yesterday, Highlanders Coach Kelvin Kaindu, still in shock over the 1-3 thrashing by ZPC Kariba trudged sorrowfully into the dressing room whereupon he shook their hands one after the other, murmuring words to the effect of farewell. The players and officials were as much stunned as they had been by the mauling by the Electricians on the field. As the Zambian left for his car, he was stopped by an unknown man and they had a lengthy discussion in the car park. The 2 then shook hands and parted and before Kaindu got into his car, he was joined by a former radio presenter and lifelong Bosso fan who asked him about the spreading rumour of his resignation. However Kaindu made it very clear to that he had NOT resigned and was still in charge of Highlanders. The journalist further quizzed Kaindu whether he had reversed his decision on the advice of the unknown man he had talked to earlier but Kaindu flatly denied so before getting into his car. The journalist later talked to a member of the Bosso executive who said Kaindus contract states that if ever he resigns before the lapse of contract, the club will not be obliged to pay him a single cent. But if the club fires him then they will be obliged to pay him US$60 000 (that is as of 28 Sept 2004). So it follows that the Zambian initially rushed into resigning in the heat of the moment, and even bade farewell to his players and some officials just after the match. But the timely appearance of this mystery man dramatically changed the chronology of events. The Highlanders executive will convene an emergency meeting at the Clubhouse tonight where Kaindus fate is most likely to dominate the agenda. And now that Kaindu is back in charge, armed with the advice he got from the mystery man, he will sit pretty at home in the knowledge that if the Executive decide to fire him, he will not mind taking the next Chigubhu bus to Lusaka, but with six hundred US$100 notes in his back pocket. He will probably never want to hear about Zimbabwe football, let alone Highlanders Football Club. He will probably not regret his time in Zimbabwe what with the satisfying knowledge that he got a rare opportunity to play and coach one of the biggest teams in this country. He will certainly have ONE regret though........never having beaten ONE COACH AND TEAM in Zimbabwe, THE GREAT KALLI AND HIS SERIAL CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING team Huruyadzo DYNAMOS FC Chazunguza Mutunhu Une Mago since 1963
