KENYA BRITISH DIPLOMACY ROW SOFTENS Following British Army Range Liason Officers memo of the coming of Explosives & Ordnance Disposal (E & OD) Unit a.k.a Pineapple (bombs/explosives detonators) this month of July on 11th, it comes as a relief to locals who were braced for hard times ahead but tolerating whatever course the hitch would take. Earlier, a 2nd Battalion of Parachute Regiment a.k.a Paras were cut short from travelling to the country amidst the hitted standoff and their exercise was cancelled until later this year. Every regiment pumps between 12-14M to Archers local economy as salaries and wages of which 80% goes to about 400 casuals who only get employeed during exercises. This year, the locals count a loss of at least 12M after one regiment failed to make it to the country due to the yank. Every year for a few years now, the locals have been consuming at least Kes 120M from British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) for 7-10 regiments. The coming of the troops is an indication of softening of diplomatic fallout of the two countries. Kenya and Britain are two alpha brothers that we may not wish to see a difference between them. They should both respect and uphold one another in decency and mutual relationship.
