KENYATTA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ASSOCIATION(K.U.S.A) OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT INTERNAL MEMO TO: ALL STUDENTS DATED: 13/12/ 2014 RE: #STATUS_OF_KUSA_TODAY. This is what we did in the last quarter of the year. Since the assumption of office of 11th congress on 16th October 2014, KUSA has managed to do a number of activities with a view to living to the expectations and the allegiance to deliver. These activities, are just an indication of our commitment to deliver. A lot more preparations are in place to ensure we get things to better levels. Here is the summary of KUSA activities in the past few weeks. ACADEMIC COMMITTEE (Headed by Josphat Mwaniki) -Successfully conducted the anti-examination irregularity campaign, dubbed…’Kick-Mwakenya out of K.U’, Campaign. -The office is also actively involved in the Career Week 2015 preparations. Career Week will take place between January 31st to February 6th, 2015. SPECIAL NEEDS COMMITTEE(Headed by #David_Mugambi) -Successfully organized for Motivational Session for students with Special Abilities. CATERING, ACCOMODATION AND SECURITY(Headed by Annmercy Wanjiku) -Successfully organized for a cleanup Service at Ngara HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE(Headed by Ryan Tei M) -Organized for a Health Drive in Ruiru Campus (in collaboration with ACU and ICL) -Conducted K.M Hotel Inspection in collaboration with Public Health Officers, Kiambu County. The report of this Inspection will be ready in few days for Students Consumption. -Facilitated the World Diabetes Day Commemorations in Kenyatta University. GENDER AND SOCIAL WELFARE COMMITTEE(Headed by Glorious John) -Successfully organized for 16 Days of Activism INFORMATION, COMMUNICATIONS AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE(Headed by Stephen Mwadime). -Successfully published The Campanile Magazine(in association with The Writers Guild) -Successfully organized for a corporate visit. SPORTS,ENTERTAINMENT AND GAMES COMMITTEE(Headed by Washington Shamela) -Organized for Entertainment/Comedy night. SATELLIGHT CAMPUSES(PARKLANDS, RUIRU, EMBU KERICHO… -Each successfully organized for a bonding session at the end of the semester. As indicated earlier, our promise and commitment to deliver remains valid. We can’t do it in isolation though. We welcome ideas and suggestions.
