KENYATTAS APPOINTMENTS: KENYA NEEDS RECONCILLIATION BUT AGAIN THIS IS POLITICS. When John F Kennedy rose to Americas presidency he was elected only by the Southern and Nothern belt, the people living in the central states never supported his presidency. The subsequent appointments in his goverment reflected just that- the largest share was taken by the south and north belt. On 4th march when Kenyans went to the ballot, central Kenya and Riftvalley voted for President Kenyatta almost to a man. Though Kenyatta has tried his level best to appease all the tribes in Kenya his appontments must also reflect the outcomes of March 4th. I mean this is politics and we must refrain from wishful thinking. In Politics we call appointments tokens. Therefore each must be given what he deserves. Let us give credit where it is due. If we look at the Cabinet statistically with regard to march 4th results and Kenyas ethnic population, we are likely to conclude that Kenyatta did a good job. On the other hand if it was CORD that managed to win the election, we expected to have many appointments to come from the western and lower eastern part of Kenya.
