KESTREL ASSOCIATES QUALITY SYSTEMS AND DATA MANAGEMENT Business Overview Business Overview Introduction This report details KA business objectives, plans and capabilities. The KA team James Knowles James has worked in the IT industry for 40 years. He has had responsibilities which cover Programming, System Analysis, Project Management, IT Manager, IT Director and Consultant. James’ experiences lead him to design a new concept Data Base and Toolkit, which has been used by many large companies and organisations, such as British Airways, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and a number of NHS Primary Care Trusts. James has also designed many systems; including a wholesale system for News Corp; distribution systems for TNT, BHS, Next; warehouse systems for Nutricia and Boddingtons; retail systems for ADS Anker. James has also developed a new business model, Pan Organisational Logistics to address the issues experienced by 21st Century Organisations as they fuse business and technology to provide the necessary management structure, procedures and processes, data architecture, and ICT infrastructure. Stephen Walker FRSA, MA, BSc, CertEd Stephen works in the university sector in this country and abroad – as a programme manager, a lecturer and a researcher. He specialises in the use of new technologies in education environments and in e-learning. He is an experienced Project Manager and has worked as a consultant for the national governments of Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, for UNESCO and for the EU commission. Paul Moorhouse Paul has worked in the financial sector for over 40 years performing roles including administration, training and financial consultancy. Before working with KA, he was the CEO of a financial consultancy company providing services to Mortgage lenders whose borrowers have fallen into arrears with their payments. He was the main administrator within his own company and in a management capacity within larger companies in the past. The training in which Paul has been involved has not only been technical but also management and interpersonal skills. Objectives KA objectives are to exploit the team’s skills, experience, knowledge and innovation to deliver relevant services to Organisations in the UK and overseas. These services are to provide: English language training to overseas persons, see appendix 1 A conduit for authors to get their material published and marketed, see appendix 2 Business process and data architecture related training to UK and overseas Organisations Owners, Executives, Managers and Administrators, see appendix 3 Services to assist Organisations to improve the performance and state of their business processes and data architecture; and to improve the quality of their data and information, see appendix 4 Services to assist innovators to formulate business infrastructure plans for inclusion in business prospectuses, Appendix 5. Plans KAs plans are to: Establish agreements with 4e-Infotech of India, see Appendix 6 to Market English language training in Asia Publish materials sourced through KA Market the business process and data architecture training in Asia Establish a web site Establish an office Market the business process and data architecture services in the UK. KESTREL ASSOCIATES ‘START UP’ PACKAGE FOR NEW BUSINESSES INTRODUCTORY EXPLANATIONS For people thinking of starting a business, they will probably have decided what products or services they are going to sell, how these products and consumables will be acquired and produced The executives will be confirmed (probably them selves and another) and what premises, plant and any transport needed will be selected. They may have incorporated all this into a business plan and have considered a marketing plan. The one thing they may not have considered, or about which they are not too sure on how to proceed is how they are going to mange their administration in this ICT enabled world. They will be familiar with web sites and probably used a data processes and spreadsheet, but not sure how to construct an appropriate administration system using these tools. Today, it is still possible to run a business without ICT, but this is becoming ever more difficult to do so, because: Customers expect to use email for communication Customers expect to see information about the business on the Internet Customers expect that documentation to be computer produced [not hand written invoices and receipts] Customers have an increasing expectation to do business using the Internet The efficiencies and cost savings that computerisation deliver are needed to make the business competitive The ever demand of government evermore data and statistics that can be efficiently produced by computers. This provides a dilemma for many start up businesses, they feel that they need some computerisation, but do not know what they want or where to get independent advice. This is where the Kestrel Associates’ start up package comes in!!! Appendix 1 – Language Training Overview This service will be provided under the trade mark of the Global Language Academy and will be delivered by our own team and by sub contracted tutors via the Internet. It will cover a number of aspects of English, including conversational, business / technical, literature and culture, and social media and will be aimed at those above 16 for anyone with an desire to prove their English to those aspiring to work or are already working in English Language Call Centres, UK company out sourced administration centres, tourist facing roles, etc. The courses will be offered as foundation where any one can join and advanced where they either need an applicable qualification or pass the GLA profiency test. This is not applicable to the one to one where the course will be tuned to the individual requirements of the student; or for the webinar course where the students need an applicable qualification or pass the GLA profiency test. Potential From the issues arising from off shore Call Centres and Administration departments of poor accent management, diction and English idioms shortcomings there appears to be a significant market for these services in those sectors alone. Also, with English now being the major language for business interaction, even between two non English speaking entities, the need for good, precise and understandable English has never been greater. Also, we are offering formal qualifications in business English. Also, with the significant increase in long haul tourism and with no geographical locations being opened up there is another major sector to exploit. The aim is to within six months [May 2015] to be training 500 students equivalents at £10 per week generating £1000 per week gross profit. The aim is to within twelve months [November 2015] to be training 1500 students equivalents at £10 per week generating £3000 per week gross profit. 1 lecturer to provide 20 sessions per week ~ 80 students therefore 6 lecturers will be needed by May 2015 and 20 lecturers by November 2015. MO The services will be provided initially by using Skype but other methods will be considered such as gotomeeting which allows for webinars as well. The services offered will be: 5 session units at £50 for up to 4 people. Video of lecturer only. These will offered in all course variants. 10 session units at £85 for up to 4 people. Video of lecturer only. These will offered in all course variants. 5 session units at £250, one to one. Video of lecturer and student. These will offered in all course variants. 10 session units at £400 for 10 sessions, one to one. Video of lecturer and student. These will offered in all course variants. Proficiency tests £30 per person per test 10 session units for up to 20 partipant webinars at £150. These will offered to those that acquire the appropriate level of proficiency. These webinars will offered for all course variants, excluding foundation. This will include video live presentations and group discussions. Appendix 2 ~ Publishing Through the partnership with 4e-Infotech and via other conduits KA will offer: Proof reading Typesetting Graphic production E-publishing Marketing Placement on e-commerce book platforms. KA already have a portfolio of books, articles and audio/video presentations ready for processing. KA will add a 15% management charge to services and take 5% of royalties generated. Appendix 5 ~ Innovator support Today many people have an idea but do not have the knowledge of business processes, data architecture and /or ICT to construct a functional business operation, or how to cost this realistically.
