KH had a 9lb barbel from swim 2 Legg meadow on Friday well 8lb 15oz. A rise with very coloured water yesterday took the river up from 5ft to 6ft and no one was fishing mid afternoon. The river is expected in all quarters to start dropping and in a few days to start clearing. There is a possibility of salmon fishing early next week. NOW is the time to get out barbel fishing. Friday wasnt an ideal day but the point was proved, good barbel are there to be caught. On my beats COURTFIELD Legg meadow is the best bet right now along with THOMAS WOOD in a few days time when the river is back around 3-4ft. Plenty of vacancies for coarse fishing as no salmon rods booked at the moment.
