KICKING OUR FLESH TO THE CURB I am so thankful for Gods Grace & His Mercy....... During Chemo your skin is very sensitive to everything and even after. I find that even now about 1 yr later I can feel the effects of it. I can be in the sun a few minutes and I am very red. Our flesh in the spirit is the same way. It is easy to hop on the FLESH Train in all kinds of circumstances. I said to my husband (shame on me) I really dont care about anything anymore. Horrible to speak that out!! Our flesh is that sensitive to our feelings. Kinda scary isnt it? We can quickly go into a offended mood, pity mood, lonely mood, and just let our mind go crazy. Past hurts flare up like a raging storm and you feel like you just lived it the day before. Living in this world is not a piece of cake. Its an ugly world when you hear, see and live around peoples pain, death and sorrow. It gets to be very overwhelming. In Genesis 1& 2 gives us the account of Creation...at the end of creation, God said It is Good....He was pleased with what He and only God created. Genesis 3:1 The Temptation and Fall of Man 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” But we see after God created man he was dissatisfied and he disobeyed God. He hid from God...The intimacy that they had was gone, sin entered in. Adam realized he was naked, exposed because of his sin. His spiritual flesh was exposed along with his physical flesh. Intimacy with God is vital to attacking our flesh. It is our worst enemy. Its desires are laced with sin. But because of the Cross and our Savior Jesus Christ and the Blood He shed, we can come boldly to the Throne Room of Grace. What an awesome privilege. We can not take that for granted!! Ecclesiastes 5:6 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse[a] and destroy the work of your hands? We have to be prepared to watch our flesh, it will get out of hand quick. We use our mouth to hurt, we listen to gossip and then spread it around, we look at things we shouldnt, we hear all sort of garbage and all these parts of our body are gates to our flesh. Remember that little song..Oh Be Careful What Little ears what you hear, see, and so forth... It is the most difficult part of our spiritual walk...it gets the best of me so much that I feel like just throwing in the towel. But, then I hear that still small voice say....I understand how you feel. I understand that you are flesh...I was reading the Temptation of Christ in Matthew 4 Satan Tempts Jesus 4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a] 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”[b] 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”[c] 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”[e] 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Jesus was flesh, had feelingS, but never allowed His flesh to overtake Him. He was born perfect with NO SIN. It is possible to combat it and kick it to the curb. THe Word of God gives us verse after verse how to combat our flesh. Here are a few verses: Luke 11:4 New King James Version (NKJV) 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”[a] 1 Corinthians 10:13 New King James Version (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. These two verses give us HOPE that we can step into Grace. We can kick the flesh to the curb. We all battle with something and we never will overcome everything. but our lives have to be so in tune with the Lord. I felt that way, and I confessed it and now its over with, cause I KICKED IT TO THE CURB aMEN & aMEN
