KIND-HEARTED Jamie Lake, who has Huntingtons disease, is turning his 30th birthday celebrations into a fundraiser thanks to the generosity of local people. Jamie, who is 30 today and from Keyham, has already raised £1,300 for The Huntingtons Association after organising a raffle for during his party. He will celebrate tonight in The Clarence pub, in Stonehouse, and is hosting a top-prize raffle. Jamie, who works at Ford Park Cemetery, said the idea had snowballed. He said: We were going to go to the pub anyway and not do anything too major. But the prizes have snowballed and weve had loads donated, hotel stays and spa breaks and Plymouth Argyle have donated a mystery prize. Jamie, who was diagnosed at the age of 28, said the disease is an inherited condition that damages certain nerve cells in the brain which can affect movement, thinking, judgement and behaviour. The event will take place tonight from 7pm at The Clarence.
