KIRK FRANKLIN MAKES FORBES LIST: ALL IN THE NAME OF JESUS When we hear about Forbes lists, citing the richest and highest paid among us, typically Christian artists, pastors, and leaders of the faith community are absent from such lists. Measuring Christians’ cash flow isn’t exactly a regular hot topic. But EUR Web reports that Kirk Franklin is gospel’s “richest” man with a net worth of $8.5 million. 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV) warns, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” There is nothing inherently wrong with the acquisition of wealth, but Believers are not to fall in love with material possessions—something the Bible says corrupts and corrodes character. “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”
