KMC to establish clubs for senior citizens The Social Welfare Department under Kathmandu Metropolitan City is doing the groundwork to establish and operate old-age clubs for the elderly citizens above the age of 70 years. The elderly citizens holding voter’s ID or citizenship certificate of Kathmandu will be eligible to apply to and join the elderly clubs as per the plan. The government has allocated Rs 4,000,000 for setting up the clubs. According to the SWD, KMC will start with two old-age clubs in the beginning.
