KNIGHTSTOWN WATER ISSUE: The Banner just spoke with Knightstown - TopicsExpress

KNIGHTSTOWN WATER ISSUE: The Banner just spoke with Knightstown Water Dept. Manager Randy Anderson. He said the town has received several complaints from residents regarding yellow water. According to Anderson, a company doing work in Knightstown (Midwest Underground) accidentally damaged a sewer line near the intersection of Front and Brown streets. In doing so, Midwest Underground utilized a town fire hydrant to help identify the problem. Turning that fire hydrant on, Anderson said, has caused some rust inside water lines to come loose and discolor household water. There is no boil order in effect, and the water is safe for consumption, Anderson said. He recommends turning on a bathtub faucet for a few minutes to clear the yellow color. This story will be updated, if necessary.
