We work together with teachers, PTAs, communities, government bodies and other NGOs to improve the quality of primary education in rural areas. Since 2005 we are co-investing with communities in schoolbooks. In order to make the books more efficient, we also train the teachers in our schools. After the training we do on-the-job coaching of teachers in their various schools. Knowledge for Children is looking for a Teacher Trainer Tasks The teacher trainer will: - Organise and execute training and on-the-job coaching sessions for primary school teachers. - Make a planning, budget and work schedule for these activities. - Coach, support and evaluate other trainers, interns and volunteers in the program. - Write year plans and reports. - Monitor school results and evaluate the effect of the trainings at the level of the schools. - Involve government Inspectors, Pedagogic advisors, Divisional Delegates, Managers of Schools and other relevant government officials to support the trainings. Requirements The teacher trainer we are looking for should have: - Experience with and passion for child centred teaching methods. - A Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent. - Experience in project management (planning, budgeting and reporting). - Good computer and communication skills. - A pro-active attitude and enthusiasm. - A passion for basic education and the overall goals of Knowledge for Children. - A driving license would be an asset. The trainer should be ready to travel to rural and distant communities. The job is a full-time position (40hrs a week) and has flexible working hours due to the nature of work.
