A letter I wrote to my brother in 2007, when I was in SHS. I did not ask of gold or diamond. I did not even ask for provisions. This is what I asked. Assin Manso Sec. Optimistically, I know everything is moving on well as the heart wishes. How about the interview you went? I learnt youve been selected as the secretary of your company. Congratulations! Mike, the main gist of writing you this letter is to tell you one thing I need most. As you know, I am in my final year and preparing adequately for the impending exams. Brother, all I need are textbooks to prepare for the WASSCE. This will enable me cover much of the sylabus since we are far behind, and we havent covered much. I hope you will send me the books as soon as possible. But for the little advice you sent in your first letter, I promise to abide by it- If you sleep too much, you will rust. I did not write the letter in watsapp/facebook short-cut words (this goes to my younger folks at the SHS) 3. The books were brought to me 4. I read them, earnestly 5. When the results were released after the WASSCE, I had the second best results (grades) of my school, and the first student to score A in chemistry (In WASSCE).
