KSD sez: News Release: At 1539 hrs today Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Paris Fire and Rescue and Bristol Rescue for a crash where a 2003 Toyota Camry rear ended a Dousman Transport Company School Bus that was stopping to drop off a student at 2218 STH 45. The driver of the school bus, Dorothy A. Steiskal (54 yoa, Trevor resident) and the Westosha Central High School student, Christian Billman (18 yoa, Town of Paris resident) on the school bus were reported to be uninjured. The driver of the school bus was ultimately transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital as a precaution. The driver of the Toyota Camry had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the Camry sustained serious injuries. The driver was transported to the Paris Public Safety Building to meet Flight for Life. The driver was then transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. The driver’s name is being withheld at this time due to the serious nature of the injuries. The preliminary investigation shows that the school bus had activated the red stop lights in order to make a stop at 2218 STH 45 to drop off a student. The driver of the bus was about to activate the stop arm of the bus when the bus was rear ended by the Camry. It is unknown at this time what factors may have contributed to the Camry not stopping for the red lights of the school bus. The investigation is ongoing.
