KSP Post 8 Morehead: On Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 4:54pm Kentucky State Police Morehead was contacted by Bath County Dispatch reference an injury accident at the 124 mile marker West Bound on Interstate 64. Trooper Scott Ferrell, Unit 1030, Trooper Nathan Shortridge, Unit 1111, Trooper Jared Wagner, Unit 604, CVE Officer Dennis Johnson, Unit 4342, Bath County EMS/Fire/Rescue, and Bath County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. Mrs. Michelle Walters, 45 of Ashland was operating a 2009 Hyundai Sonata West bound. Mrs. Walters was at a standstill in traffic due to an earlier accident when she was struck in the rear by a 2012 Subaru being operated by Mrs. Darinda Marriner, 51 of Morehead. Shortly thereafter Mrs. Marriner was struck in the rear by a 2003 Mercedes sedan being operated by Miss Sarah Caudill, 20 of Owingsville. Mrs. Marriner was transported from the scene by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she is currently listed in critical condition. Mrs. Walters was treated and released on scene for her injuries and Miss Caudill was transported to and released from St. Claire Regional Medical Center for her injuries. Accident remains under the investigation of Trooper Scott Ferrell.
