KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- The Government of India is offering scholarships for Malaysian students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Indian traditional medicine - Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy (AYUSH). The High Commission of India in a statement here Tuesday said it welcomed applications from Malaysian nationals who wished to pursue courses in AYUSH for the 2013-14 academic year. The statement said that 15 places had been allocated for Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery, Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery, Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) and Bachelor of Science in Yoga. Postgraduate courses are M.D Ayurveda, M.D Siddha, M.D. Unani and M.D Homeopathy, and Ph.D in Ayurveda. The statement added that the candidates should check on their eligibility for the course they wished to pursue, should be proficient in English and should not have any serious health problems. The scholarship provides for tuition fee, living allowance, contingent grant, house rent allowance and medical benefits (no airfare is provided).
