KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 — 12.00am Royal Malaysian Navy’s KD Kasturi and KD Lekiu set off to the Indian Ocean at 9.00pm March 19 to join in the search and rescue operation for missing MAS flight MH370. The New Straits Times reported that both vessels set sail from the Lumut navy jetty operations base. ———— 11.00pm (March 19) In refuting a report by a local newspaper that implicated Indonesia in a global secret movement or western coalition with a particular agenda in relations to the disappearance of MH370, the country’s embassy released a statement today, saying that the article referred to speculation in Cabal Times which was made up to create confusion. The country also denied it had withheld information, as alleged by the newspaper that Indonesia had not released its radar data that MH370 had flown through its airspace. In the statement, Indonesia expressed its protest against the article titled “MH370 Hidden in the United States Base in Diego Garcia?” The statement also pointed out that Indonesia was among the first to respond when news broke that the plane had gone missing on March 8, saying they deployed eight vessels and three aircraft, and personnel from the Indonesian Armed Forces and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas). 10.00pm Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has ordered an immediate inquiry into the events that unfolded in the press room today where several family members of those on board MH370 came to the Sama-Sama Hotel in Sepang demanding for more information on the search and rescue operation. Hishammuddin’s Communication Team tweeted via @H2OComms; “I have ordered an immediate inquiry into the events in the press room today.”
