KWANKWASIYYA: Two legs good, four legs bad! Gov. Musa Kwankwaso - TopicsExpress

KWANKWASIYYA: Two legs good, four legs bad! Gov. Musa Kwankwaso declared his intention to run for the Presidency at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja today. It was a very heavy downpour this evening. After the blistering heat of the morning and afternoon, the rains really came down with a vengeance. The heavens just opened up and poured down a deluge of rain that forced a lot of cars to park on the side of the road. I was driving atop the Area 1 bridge headed towards Berger in the rain. The traffic was dense and more than 5 lanes formed on the 3 lane expressway. As we crawled along I couldnt help but notice several open trailers with Kebbi state plate numbers, the kind used to convey cattle, decked out in Kwankwasiyya posters and carrying very many thoroughly drenched and miserable looking human beings. Chai! I felt real sympathy for them. Here they are in cattle transport, being shipped cross-country fully exposed to natures elements just to massage the political vanity of a man whose family live in warm luxury away from the swarming crowds frenzied by the token sums of money paid them for their presence. And you just marvel at the level of wretchedness so prevalent in our society. The rain fell thick and heavy, beating on the heads and slashing across their faces soaking red hijabs and red caps and right down to their inner clothing while the cold permeated their skins into their bones. Just like when I saw pics of ex-Gov Fayemis bedroom of Byzantine luxury, the first thought that occurred to me when I saw the contrast in those trailers filled with those shivering masses of humanity is: TWO LEGS GOOD, FOUR LEGS BAD! Honestly, we live in an animal farm in these parts. ~ Iyke Durumba
