KWANKWASO COMMISSIONS KANGIS COMPLEX Kano state governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso has commissioned the ultra modern office complex of the state Geographic Information System, KANGIS, constructed at the cost of about N283 million. Performing the function, Gov. Kwankwaso described the initiative as a significant watershed in land administration in the state, which will serve as a bank for updated data on land record, aerial/satellite images, engineering drawing and related geographical information. He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the state committee on street naming and house numbering to ensure the success of its work, which he described as part of the administration’s urban renewal programme. In his speech, the state Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Muhammadu Nadu Yahya explained that KANGIS is a one-stop shop that is well-equipped for improved land management in Kano, which in turn will lead to bountiful socio-economic returns.
