Kaduna APC lawmakers endorse Buhari The members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly under the All Progressive Congress [APC], on Monday endorsed a former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari’s aspiration to run for president in 2015. Twelve out of the 34 members of the Assembly are in the APC. The Minority Leader of the House, Muhammad Ali, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Kaduna, said Mr. Buhari remained the only candidate that could salvage the misfortunes of Nigeria. Mr. Ali said the opposition APC members in the house resolved to endorse Mr. Buhari because he was an incorruptible leader. “Never in the history of this nation have we come close to a failed state as currently, owing to the ineptitude of those charged with the responsibility of leading this great nation. We are aware that nations prosper when there is respect for the humanity of others; there are certain patronising things you cannot do,” he said. He said when Mr. Buhari was the military head of state, Nigeria blossomed as a nation, discipline was restored and the country was respected worldwide. He alleged that many were afraid of Mr. Buhari because they were beholden to corruption and greed. “Many adore Buhari because they believe he has the ability to turn things around. Nigeria is in dire need of leaders that will save it from the current state it has found itself owing to the failure of the central establishment to do things by book and the blatant abuse of procedure occasioned by endemic corruption, insecurity, persistent strike actions by workers and academic staff unions of our academic institutions,” Mr. Ali said.
