Kaiji. season 1 and season 2. there are lot of competent and incompetent reviews out there and this anime is in the right buzz now . This is not a review, take it as after-view and outliner. now: This.is,the.shit. this is the reason why anime lovers wait for years and years to watch a masterful piece;carefully crafted to its very delicate detail. The characters are the perfect representation of real souls which delve in the society,very common,very real,and they show their true color in different situations. i.e this anime is set in a realistic society,and the approach here is from a common mans (the protagonist ) point of view. (which is btw very appetizing,since you all know anime protagonist are normally so dashing and blah blah) . the main protagonist is perfectly grey,and only blossoms up when there is huge pressure, he cries,and he gets his shit straight,and messes up too ,and thats what makes this anime enjoyable and close to perfection. the storyline is fairly simple, Kaiji gets in debt trouble,he gambles, he loses,he cries, he wins,he loses. thats all there is. now,the plot,the plot is the one which makes this show magnificent and goddamn awesome and worthy of coming in my top 10 list easily. the plot is defined,refined,and designed flawlessly. the execution of the gambles,the gruesome nature of it, the pressure,the atmosphere is masterfully drawn/written,as well as the turns and outcomes are very logical,very realistic and thats how it comes as one of the best (if not best) mind games genre anime ever,which is analogically perfect . i dont know why it wont go down as classic (if it ever fails. lol ) some may say the episodes (specially i S2) should be edited down a bit, but oh well let it go, you are watching an anime which is so flawless that you want to enjoy it more. now im gonna end it with mentioning two other animes. 1.NGNL - dudes please shaph comparing this shit (yes.shit,and there are so many shitty flaws in it,that i just dont want to elaborate,it is shit,just take my words. lol ) with Kaiji. NGNL is for sao lovers only, period. 2.monster-this is another one masterpiece ,but still i am gonan say i found this anime a bit over-the-top unrealistic, where kaiji represents more realistic approach. :)
