Kajukenbo - 4 Branches: Original Method (Emperado Method), Chuan Fa, Wun Hop Kuen Do, Tum Pai. Within these 4 branches, there are many methods contained. The influence of Sijo Adrianno Emperado has spread vastly worldwide. There are SO many Martial lines that can trace themselves back to Sijo. Even MOST all Kenpo branches can trace themselves to Sijo Emperado. He was Professor William K.S. Chows #1 guy. Even the famous Ed Parker of American Kenpo trained with Sijo for a bit prior to moving under Professor Chow. I state this as a reminder that we are all family. NO, some of the lines SHOULD NOT call themselves Kajukenbo, as they are not legitimate lines under the 4 branches, BUT they are still family. There are a number of people that are so locked into their own branch that they disregard the other branches, thinking that theirs is the best. The evolution of Kajukenbo has taken many turns, and not one way is better than the other, only different. Each method was created for a reason, to fit certain types of individuals. It doesnt matter if you are a 1st Degree Black Belt or all the way up to GrandMaster, it is your responsibility to help keep our family strong and connected. There will always be problems between individual people, as that is human nature - just be sure you dont let your personal problems affect the big picture. We are not required to like each other, but it is important for our future to give each other the proper respect as family. Always respect your seniors, but remember that rank/time do not make a person, it is who they are that matters most. Are you someone that deserves respect or someone that demands respect? Try to be the one that deserves it by your actions and choices. We are very fortunate to be part of such an awesome Martial Art. Let us not ever forget that. It is up to all of us to keep it strong and growing, but growing in the right direction, not just in numbers of practitioners, but number of QUALITY Black Belts produced and QUALITY instructors produced. I am only one person, and I hope that I, and we as a family, can count on many of you to help us move in the right direction and secure our strength for the future.
