Kakatsitsi! Come and experience a vibrant performance from Ghana; a colourful, energetic and entertaining show, bursting with traditional African drumming, dancing and singing. The Worcester Arts Workshop is proud to welcome Kakatsitsi, a group of traditional performers from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana who have been touring for over 18 years. Visually and aurally spectacular with funky music and colourful, authentic costumes; this exciting show encompasses a wide range of musical styles to present a spectacle of rich West African culture. These high quality performers use traditional chants often arranged in five part harmony, enhanced by friendly commentary about the background of the songs, music, dances and the many instruments and drums the band uses. Two of the drummers regularly perform with some of Ghana’s leading musicians and this year the group collaborated with UK electronic music duo, The Orb, at Glastonbury. The Worcester Arts Workshop’s Kate Cox said “Don’t miss this fantastic experience to celebrate World music and performance!” Worcester Arts Workshop Saturday October 12th at 7pm Ages 6+ £12/10 concs To book tickets, please call the office on 01905 25053. worcesterartsworkshop.org.uk indigenouspeople.org.uk/kakatsitsi youtube/watch?v=DL9ogjTArpI
