Kalamandalam Goutam, a graduate in Kathakali from Kerala Kalamandalam. Goutam started dancing at a very tender age in Kolkata, practicing Kathakali, which he studied for eight years in Kolkata and got associated with Guru Govindan Kutty before he moved to Kerala in 1998 for higher studies. Kalamandalam Balasubramaniam and Kalamandalam Ramdas Asan are his primary Gurus over there. Though Goutam received several trainings from the Maestros like Kalamandalam Raman Kutty Nair, Kalamandalam Padmanabhan Nair and Kalamandalam Gopi. Goutam has performed extensively with the Kerala Kalamandalam Major Kathakali Troup for years across Kerala and have also toured at several parts of India and abroad. He has travelled countries like, Russia, Canada, Singapore, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, USA and others to spread the art of Kathakali. Kerala Gurukulam by Sajeev Pillai., Writing on the wall by the Films division of India are the couple of popular Documentaries where he have worked. Goutam is the first Dance Therapist in this world to work with Kathakali. He has giving dance therapy to the students of Shilpa Special School, a school of physically and mentally disabled children in Cochin. Government of Kerala, have awarded Goutam with five popular Kathakali Awards for his outstanding performances at Kerala.
