Kamdhenu Gaushala, Nurmahal- A plethora of eminent personalities visited Kamdhenu Gaushala on 13 th January 2015. This lohri brought out many great luminaries to visit the dynamic Indigenous Cattle Breeding project and the propagation of the species being undertaken at a fast pace was appreciated by many experts. Shri Ranvir Singh chief scientist, Sahiwal cow protection and propagation project, veterinary research department, Indian veterinary research institute Bareilly says with the participation of farmers and gaushalas, Kamdhenu Gaushala, Nurmahal, Jalandhar is emerging as the best centre for the protection and propagation of indigenous cattle especially Sahiwal breed. With progeny testing genetic improvement of all qualities in cattle especially Sahiwal is proceeding in right direction at Kamdhenu Gaushala. There is necessity to establish Bull mother farm at the Gaushala he observed. Scores of dedicated disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharajji are tirelessly working to make the Kamdhenu Gaushala a model Gaushala and he wished success and bright future for the centre. Shri Teja ram Professor and head of department Economics, Government girl’s college sector 14, Mehrauli road, Gurgaon, Haryana stated that worlds best, soothing, peaceful and most enterprising effort is raising, protection and propagation of Sahiwal cows. The work going on at Kamdhenu Gaushala is a step towards bright future of our nation. The Gaushala is a pious effort for enabling the service and dedication of the farmers, youth and business men of Punjab to contribute and excel in the service to indigenous cattle breeds. Brigadier Dr RR Yadav from Gurgaon stated that the nice, beautifully maintained indigenous cows were a joy to behold. He suggested the need to develop semen preservation laboratory and enthused that this effort is potential source of breeding cow’s like Sahiwal etc. Shri Rajendra Kothari from Bhopal said the Gaushala and its efforts for preservation propagation of indigenous cattle is great service to India. and he wished success and bright future for the center.
