Kampala Fashion Week casting….Day 2 (about an hour ago) ‘….We are sorry, We couldn’t finish the casting in just one day, the rest of the models, I will request you to come back tomorrow Morning (which is today)at exactly 10am..’’ A light skinned lady with an accent, said politely, that was yesterday. So, today at 9:47am, I left work rushing just to get there on time. By 10:01am, I entered, found some of the models seated already, most of them with earphones in their ears, I join them and get myself busy while replying to last night’s Whatsapp messages. Those nocturnals that never sleep, but keep messages coming in, even if its 3am! Oh yes! I can’t deny. I am one of them. My back starts aching, I stand up and give fleeting look at my watch on my left hand, oh sh# ! its 11:06 am. I have been here for one hour and 5 minues….where are these people?? Well, well, we are models(professional ones by the way) but we also have other things to do. I grumble with the INNER Canary. Hmm.. he remains silent. He doesn’t mention not a thing to me. Wait :o …even their door is still closed -_- ! I bend, and cuff my pants, thinking to myself, I should just leave already, that INNER Canary tells me, ‘Come on, you have been waiting for this long and now you want to leave? So what was the whole intention of waiting? That time can’t be wasted. Immediately as I am getting up vertical, a fat lady in her early 20’s, shows up. (I want to question her, where she’s been) she puts up a broad smile, facing me (I chill the question) and then, She reads names .…I am number four on the list :D She hands me this card written on my name and number 4. Bye..am gone! I tell my neighbor.. Moral of the story, don’t lose your patience, it’s worth it.
