Kamsaret Nallah Action Committee Decide on Relay Hunger Strike Three persons will be going on a 12 Hour Hunger Strike from 27th Aug. 2014 followed by another three persons for the same period. “This will continue till our demands are met”, stated the Secretary, Kamsaret Nallah Action Committee, Wimberlygunj, South Andaman today in a letter to the Lt. Governor. The Kamsaret Nallah Action Committee has listed out a set of demands which include, immediate transfer / suspension of the present HD of RCD, K Amose; bringing back Wimberlygunj Sub Division Office to RCD Office from Kamsaret; conversion of Inspection Bungalow at Kamsaret into Guest House; stopping favouritism in awarding work orders & supply orders and to provide opportunity non-enlisted unemployed youth; to include RCD in the strengthened divisions like Campbell Bay Construction Division, South Andaman Construction Division, CD II, Diglipur Construction Division and appointment of Assistant Engineer Planning and a Grade I HD; to stop using DRMs for personal works of the APWD staff; to maintain transparency in all transactions of Public Money and providing employment opportunities to youth; to stop tampering with Tender Documents & double standards in following CPWD norms; to stop indiscriminate cutting of trees and large scale displacement of earth from Kanyapuram in the name of Kamsaret Nallah Water Supply Scheme; to take up long pending Road Works; to ensure enhancement of water supply to all areas and to stop using private vehicles for commercial purposes.
