Kan-Dapaah, K.T Hammond to appear before judgement debt commission over GNPC drill ship saga Former Energy Minister under the Kufuor administration, Albert Kan-Dapaah, and his deputy K.T Hammond, will later Monday appear before the Judgement Debt Commission to answer questions about their involvement in the sale of a drill ship belonging to the GNPC. The Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) drill ship, Discoverer 511, was sold to pay off a $19.5 million judgment debt owed to French multinational bank, Societe General. Both Mr. Kan-Dapaah and Mr. Hammond have maintained that all the $24 million realized from the sale of the ship was used to defray judgment debt and the remaining $3.5 million returned to government chest. Kofi Dometi Sokpor, Lawyer for the Commission told Joy News he is interested in investigating everything that has to do with the drillship. For instance, part of the US$3.5 million, lodged in account with the Ghana International Bank under the name GNPC Drillship D511, was used pay Aquatic Engineering. But in an interview with Joy News, Mr K.T. Hammond denied opening an account with the Ghana International Bank in London.
