Kanaka Open mic (Bowie night!) youtu.be/LTYvjrM6djo This Wednesday January 14th, Kanaka Open mic has a David Bowie theme, which is of course optional (meaning you dont have to sing a Bowie song if you dont want to!). The camelion that is David Bowie, turned 68 this past week!!! I could not for a minute begin to explain David Bowie or his career...that would take a life-time! But I have added a video of Bowie singing his song Blue Jean. In the video Bowie plays the very cool musician/singer and simultaneously a blundering date. One of the reasons that I chose this video, is because it shows Bowies genius in creating characters, often contrasting, always fascinating. His voice is like none other, often operatic in its vibrato, his movements precise and always cool! His lyrics often intellectual, never boring or trite...I could go on really!
