Woooh!! This week I have added a video by sisterly trio The Staves a.k.a Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor singing In the long run (nothing to do with the Eagles!). The three sisters are from Watford, Hertfordshire, England. They began by performing at Open mic nights, The Staves went on to work with Tom Jones, and have been the support act for Civil Wars among many other notable pairings. I LOVE the fact that the girls are singing with the backdrop of nature as their frame. I also love their subtle harmonies, absolutely beautiful....Oh and a little bit of swearing, some beer and mosquitoes....as is the English way...and the Canadian way, but the mosquitoes are far bigger over here (size of rats in comparison!!!). The sentiment of the song is rather bittersweet, but theres a kind of promise in it which tilts it more toward the sweet than the bitter.
