Kannan Raghupathy Best of luck to those taking the CGL Examination 2014-Tier I on 19th and 26th October. Firstly, keep in mind that you appear in an examination to score as best as you can. This you can do only if you fill in all details on Page 1 of the OMR Answer sheet and also properly code them. Name, Roll no, Ticket No, Question Booklet No etc need to be written and also coded fully and correctly. A few missing alphabets in the name will not really matter and any mistake in others will invite a zero in the paper. Secondly, you must ensure that you write the declaration, affix your signature and LTI on page 1. It is your responsibility to see that the invigilator signs in the assigned place. There is no point in claiming after the examination that the invigilator is at fault- it is you who will suffer by bagging a zero in the paper. Thirdly, ensure that the Question Booklet No and OMR sheet no are one and the same. If they differ it will not really matter if the attendance lists actually mention the number of the answer sheet and question booklet numbers, even if they are different. Fourthly, as far as I know, use of the white fluid to erase wrong entries or coding in the OMR sheet is allowed. But, ensure that no smudges are left after erasure and that the fluid fully dries before you write or code on it. Fifthly, Competitive Examinations with multiple choice objective type questions test knowledge as well as speed. Therefore, time management is very important. You have only 36 seconds to read a question, solve it and mark it in the OMR sheet. Keep this in mind. Beware of cheaters using high tech gadgets or low tech methods such as impersonation. After all, your chance of success will be reduced if you keep quiet when cheating takes place before your eyes. Do your best. Each and every mark will matter in the final stage.
