Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, has condemned those who protested in the state last week against the appointment of new Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II. Kwankwaso, in Hausa dialect, said: “Anybody who foments trouble over the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, God almighty will surely judge the person. Kwankwaso who spoke at the weekly executive council meeting at Government House, Kano yesterday, said: “Those behind the protests are known people who always are sponsoring people to foment trouble in Kano. “Those who are against the developmental projects and purposeful leadership in Kano are always looking for ways to foment trouble here, but God is always with us and they will never succeed against us and the people of Kano.” Kwankwaso also noted: “We are enjoying relative peace in the state and anyone who is fermenting trouble will end up in annoyance in his life.” The governor also advised the late Bayero’s family to stop listening to those he called ‘charlatans’ who are always there to aggravate and spur them against one another. He recalled: I was defeated as a sitting governor of Kano in 2003 and despite the fact that I knew something somewhere was missing but I saw it as an act of God and I surrendered my belief in Allah, and I went to the winner and congratulates him.” During the weekly executive council meeting, the state government approved the projects worth about N800 million around for the road construction at Rimin Kebe-Jaba road in Nassarawa Local Government Area.
