Karachi in rap. These Young Stunners have made two songs on the stereotypes and labels attached to people that exist in the city and hold a mirror to city for those of us who tend to categorize a particular kind of people here- and lets face it, so many do this. A little research on origins of rap showed: Hip-hop, as it was then known, was a product of pure streetwise ingenuity; extracting rhythms and melodies from existing records and mixing them up with searing poetry chronicling life in the hood, hip-hop spilled out of the ghetto. In in a loose way, the lyrics do live up to the same ideology- perhaps not as profound but in a rather raw way. Thoughts?
