He said “Oh really? I thought you were the only nurse because you’re the only one wearing white.” “I think even though it’s just a colour, for some reason it portrays competence and caring and empathy and I think that’s what comes across to the patient and we need more of that today. Health care is fast-paced and it’s a big work load. Sometimes the patient needs to speak to you immediately and they don’t need to be running all over the place looking for someone who looks like the RN.”
