Karens Message of the Week: Owning a dog isnt free. This is why adopting is not free. Our organization, like every other Westie Rescue group, does not give away dogs just because they need shelter and you happen to live in a place with a roof. Asking a potential adopter to defray a fraction of the cost of our medical care for our dogs in foster is NOTHING compared to what it costs to care for a dog over its lifetime. If it insults you to give us $150-300 as a donation when we have spent in most cases over $600 to address each dogs issues (and in some cases $3-,4000), then Unlike our page NOW. Scolding me over email is also not going to make me give you a dog, nor is telling me the dog is not worth that much. OUR DOGS OUR WORTH EVERYTHING. Every animal deserves to be treated like they are the King or Queen of England. Just because some human being just couldnt be bothered with our rescues does not make them LESS than a purebred dog or one you might buy on the cheap from the pet store (supplied by an awful puppy mill). Ive got news for you: all these dogs are EQUAL in their right to live a healthy, happy life. IF YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT ALL DOGS DESERVE TO BE HAPPY AND ARE NOT MERCHANDISE, LIKE THIS COMMENT!! Phew!
