Arsene Wenger was hoping to lure the 26-year-old to Arsenal this summer, while big-spending French champions PSG have also been monitoring his situation. But thoughts of a move away from Madrid look to have been well and truly shelved by Benzema, who hopes to agree a new long-term deal with the 10-time European champions. Despite having a plethora of attacking talent in Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Alvaro Morata and Angel Di Maria, Ancelotti is keen to add to his ranks and has made Liverpool forward Suarez his No.1 summer transfer target. According to reports, Madrid have launched a £73m bid for the Uruguay international, who netted an impressive 31 times during the 2013/14 campaign as Liverpool just missed on the Premier League title. Even though the arrival of Suarez at the Bernabeu would represent further competition, Benzema insists he would welcome the signing of Liverpools talisman. Anyone can come, especially since the best club is Madrid. I work every day to play for Madrid, Benzema told MARCA. I have no particular pressure. Suarez is a great player and has achieved a great season, but in football you must produce several very good seasons. But he is a great player and if he comes, he will help us.
