Karki reshuffles CIAA team KATHMANDU, JUL 24 - Three months after taking the helm of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Lokman Singh Karki has reshuffle d his team. The CIAA chief commissioner transferred some heads of the investigation departments, including special investigation taskforce that looks after the cases related with disproportionate properties. Shreedhar Sapkota, who has heading the taskforce, has been transferred to the Planning Division. Chiranjivi Khanal, who used to investigate the cases related with local bodies, poverty reduction and cooperative, has been assigned to deal with disproportionate properties. Over 400 corruption complaints filed against high-profile politicians, security officials and bureaucrats, facing charges of amassing properties through legal means, have been pending at the taskforce for years. Krishna Dhungana, the head of the Planning Division, has been transferred to the Department No 1 that deals with cases related with land reform. Newly appointed CIAA official Rishi Raj Bhandari has been assigned as the chief of Department No 4 that investigates corruption cases related with Health and Commerce ministries. Ganesh Babu Aryal, who used to investigate cases related with energy and hydropower, has been transferred to the Department No 3, which deals with corruption within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
