Kaseba and Kasolo Clash over Sata’s Property The Late President Michael Sata’s widow Dr Christine Kaseba and the president’s cousin Chanda Kasolo find themselves in a dispute over property that was not included in the will, a source close to State House says. Among the properties that we’re not included in the will are Michael Sata’s residence in Rhodes Park, his office buildings at Farmers House in Lusaka, and four other houses in Kitwe’s Nkana East, two buildings in the North Rise area of Ndola, and also the two houses he built (allegedly illegally) while in power located in New Kasama and Shimabala. The source says that when it was discovered that these properties were not listed in the will executed by President Sata, Dr Kaseba decided to begin the process of changing ownership of these properties into her name and that of her daughter Chilufya Sata. One of President Sata’s relatives who is still at State house then informed Anthony Kasolo about the issue, who tasked his younger brother Chanda Kasolo (current PS of Information and a spokesperson for the Sata family) to confront the former first lady on Saturday evening, the source says. Kasolo is said to have warned her against taking over properties without consulting with the rest of the family, suggesting that many of Sata’s other children should benefit as well. The source says that Kaseba quickly responded that “they don’t deserve any benefits” because they are “bastard” children. The source says that Kaseba told Kasolo that only her and her children are the first family and will not share the properties with other children. Kasolo warned Kaseba again not to change ownership, and suggested taking the matter before the courts, the source says. Chanda Kasolo has since called for a family meeting this Thursday to be held at Nkwazi House and all senior members from the Sata family have been called to attend. zambiareports/2014/12/23/kaseba-kasolo-clash-satas-property/
