The defection of the former governor of Borno state Sen. Ali Sherrief to the people democratic party (PDP) was not as colourful as many thought it will be.The reception ceremony done in honor of the former governor of Kano state Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau now Minister Education is done in grand style and respect.One is left to fonder with reasons why Senator Ali Modu Sherrief who his supporters high hope for grand reception was quashed.Could it be because the senator had failed in his claim to defect with the soul of the APC. Could it be because poeple from all nook and cranny had read about the accusation leveled against him for sponsoring terrorist group popularly known as Boko haram.Could it be because there is new political dimension devoid of thuggery and rigging.Could it be because the Sen. Who has been in politics for long and had been elected Senator for more than three times and as governor for two tenures could not make his political Arithemetics well in the national politics.Whatever the case may be the Senator could be a local politician who took the advantage of the poverty level of his state to which he is a governor on two consecutive occasions and Senator for More than three times to throw money and most oftenly threaten his opponents with well trained and armed thugs he called Ecomog.Through out his tenure Ecomogs waxed stronger, the Army and Other securities were made Useless before the Ecomogs even on official occasions.Having a case to answer on Boko Haram sponsorship and many more political stigma on him.One can simply deduced that PDP had to distanced itself from stigmatisation if at all the party want to maitain its members. Nigerians would like to know why SAS was woefully defeated in 2011.The politics of godfatherism and thuggery no more hold water in Borno. The reaso why Steven Devis accusations were seen to be truth even before adjucation is because Sherrief didnt handle the aftermath of the 2009. Conflict appropriately and only God know his reasons. William Assenge had also made some revealation which did not go well with America and Germany.Now the supporters of SAS as they call him donot have a breeding space.Many of them say they are with him because of what his Ideology is.He call us birds which he can catch with Money but he had forgotten that We all celebrated his defeat in the senatorial election in 2011.You can take a horse to the river side but you cant forced the horse to drink from the river. Conclusively, it is more easier for camel to pass through the kneedle eye than for SAS or his candidate(s) to Win election in Nigeria.When his people are hungry,he is busy buying private jets.When people like Atiku are investing in their state to create employment.SAS has built multi million naira.
