Kashmir lawmaker unlocks ration depots, distributes food to poor: A lawmaker in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday unlocked two government food depots and distributed essentials among the poor. Member Legislative Assembly, Langate, Abdul Rashid unlocked two CAPD stores and distributed food grains among the villager himself at both the stores. According to the reports, inhabitants of border areas of Pothwara, Reshwari and adjoining hamlets hailing from Langate constituency were without food grains since last three weeks. Though the concerned MLA had brought the matter in the notice of concerned Minister and higher authorities but it couldn’t resolve the problem of inhabitants of this remote area. However the department had sent some quantity of rice to the said store some five days back but was not being distributed due to some unknown reasons which had forced villagers to suffer with starvation. Taking note of the sufferings of the villagers President Awami Ittihaad Party in the morning made a sudden visit to both the ration depots and unlocked the store in presence of village Panchayat and distributed the available ration by acting like a ‘Ghat Munshi’ throughout the day. Latter talking on the occasion Rashid said that state government has miserably failed and nobody cares about problems of common masses.
