Kashmir school flouts court order Srinagar: Hattrick Public School – a school in Kashmir that is run by a wealthy businessman is violating the court orders and the guidelines the state government as school authorities are not only demanding fee from the students for September and October but have also started warning parents that their wards would be rusticated in case they defy the school directions. “In wake of the recent unprecedented floods, the J&K High Court recently had directed management of all the education institutes not to charge tuition fee as well as bus fare from students for the month of September and October 2014. However, flouting the order, the school management is busy extracting fee from the students for the month of September and October,” a delegation of parents told CNS. “I cleared the fee of my ward for the month of September and October as the school management has warned the parents that they will not allow students to sit in the examination until they don’t pay their fee of these two months,” father of a student said. Another parent said this school follow its own rules, as according to him, the school management has access to corridors of power and easily violate all the rules and guidelines that comes from the top. The parents said that they have no option but to yield to pressure from the school management. “We receive warning calls from school authorities on daily basis. I have no option but to submit the fee of these two months as I can’t afford admitting my ward to a new school at this stage,” said a parent. ‘The website of this school claims that its owner was very keen to venture an institute to serve the fellow people in education sector’ but now we have been feeling that the ultimate aim of the owner of the school is to fleece the people who have already suffered due to devastating floods,” the parents said. “Where is the Court order? Forward me the copy if you have one. We will charge the fee from students as we have not received any order from Court,” the owner of the School told CNS. (CNS)
