Kashmiris fight for freedom not for ‘chair’ under Indian constitution: Shabir Shah Calls for complete boycott of elections Srinagar, Dec 3: Senior resistance leader and chairman, Democratic Freedom Party, Shabir Ahmad Shah in a statement has out rightly rejected the statements on Kashmir issue by BJP’s Prime ministerial candidate and Gujrat’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Shah said “Kashmir dispute belongs to people of Jammu and Kashmir, which can be solved by implementing UN resolutions or through tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiri resistance leaders in a meaningful dialogue”. Accepting Syed Salahudin hero of Kashmir freedom struggle Shah said “Those who say Syed is militant are those who have snatched the rights of Kashmiri people. One who works for Kashmir cause is hero to Kashmir’’. Shah said that India subjugated this nation after getting independence from British in 1947. “Since then, we are running this freedom movement against India which occupied our nation against our wishes,” Shah said, adding that, in this struggle for freedom, our two generations sacrificed their everything and third is at war with the imperial powers. Terming the attempts of so-called “state agents” of occupational rulers to lure innocent masses in participating in election as “detrimental to freedom struggle”, Shah said that pro-India rulers have always deceived the people in one way or other. “They promise of raising the voice of people in parliament and assembly if elected to power, but forget everything after getting elected,” he said. Lashing out at pro-India rulers, the veteran resistance leader said, they deceive everyone by claiming that people of Kashmir declared accession with India after they get elected to power, which is a blatant lie. “During election campaigns, they claim that elections are for developmental purposes like providing electricity, water and roads but present the same participation of Kashmiris in elections as “plebiscite” at international forums,” he said. Shabir Ahmad Shah during his speech appealed people not to fall to the traps of pro-India rulers and completely boycott the elections. He said the motive behind all the elections conducted in Kashmir from time to time is to strengthen the Indian forcible occupation on Kashmir. Freedom Party chairman said there will be no peace in subcontinent till Kashmiris will not get their right to self determination. “The Kashmir issue became the basis of four wars between India and Pakistan; if, God forbid, fifth war broke out, it will surely push the subcontinent to Stone Age,” he warned. Terming the statement of veteran human rights activists, Gautam Navlakha that “Talks with Government of India would be meaningless and India’s freedom and security is at stake till the freedom of Kashmir” as an eye- opener for India. Shah stressed on pro-freedom leadership to formulate ideological unity between themselves so as to take the ongoing resistance movement to its logical end. He also said that dawn of freedom is approaching. Appealing people to completely boycott the elections, Shah expressed hope that Kashmiris will honour the sacred blood of martyrs. Expressing wonder over the reports regarding India’s plan of construction of a concrete wall along the Line of Control (LoC) on pattern of Berlin Wall Shah said, ‘’21st century is not for building political walls along borders but to dismantle them”. Expressing seriousness and concern by Freedom Party’s Spokesperson over the rejection to stay in a private hotel at New Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front’s chairman Yaseen Malik and his wife with their small kid. He said it is the worst incident of its kind and must be condemned.
