Kasra Arch (Khosraw arch) , Ctesiphon Ctesiphon, the most famous of all Sasanian monuments and a landmark in the history of architecture, Kasra arch is the legendary throne hall of the Sasanian kings of the kings. The standing monument consists of a large Arch 43.50m deep by 25.50m wide, and stood originally 35 m above ground level; Ctesiphon fell to the Muslims during the first islamic invasion of Persia in 637 under the military command of Sad-Abi Waqas during the caliphate of Omar, when this once glorious city went into a rapid decline.... Today, the remains of the city are in Baghdad, Iraq, Baghdad itself was a city of the Greater Iran and its name too has Iranian roots ( Bagh: God, Dad:given, literally God given ) ~mazdak~
