Kate Dylewsky, Program Associate at Born Free USA, was one of several advocates (including Elephants DC and The Humane Society of the United States) who testified in support of Assembly Bill 3128, sponsored by Raj Mukherji. A. 3128 prohibits sale, purchase, barter, or possession of ivory or rhinoceros horn and items containing ivory or rhinoceros horn, with limited exceptions. Following a hearing in the New Jersey Commerce and Economic Development Committee, A. 3128 passed with no amendments and is now on its way to setting a precedent for the rest of the nation.
