Kate has continued to be well thank God. She has had no episodes in over a week. Things that would definitely have caused a serious episode before have not bothered her over the last few days. She is coming off her ventilator and using her speaking valve for nearly two hours morning and afternoon and she is eating two small meals a day orally. Yesterday she had bloods taken. These will be sent to Oxford where specialists in metabolic disorders will do different screening tests to see if there is a metabolic cause for all of Kates medical problems. These results will take weeks to months to return. I want to say a special thank you to all of my work colleagues in Cork University Hospital and St Finbarrs Hospital for organising cake sales this week. This is the second time they have done this. Thank you also to everyone who supported them. We really appreciate all your support and kindness. Xxx
