Katelyn had a school field trip to the fire station today. We were all excited on the drive there! Then, we arrived. My kids saw the fire trucks and the guys dressed just like the paramedics and instantly were timid and scared. Grayson clung to me saying, Ambulance No No No and Katelyn was quiet and stayed close. When we got in the car Kate immediately said, I thought they were going to take my Bubba. I never ever want to go there again. Heart.Breaking. My heart is unexpectantly aching this morning...as I left Kate at her school she was sitting on the steps while the rest of her classmates were playing. It obviously rattled her.... Normal life and yet we still get knocked down by Cancer and our experiences with it. I have said many times that I am glad my kids are young and wont remember most of this...but I begin to wonder on days like today how much will forever be engrained in their memories. Even if they dont remember the specifics will they always be fearful in these situations? Sigh...
