Katherine Rye Schmidt Trials When trials come into my life, I ask the Lord Jesus, “Why all of this strife?” Before this one is finished Another trial is here. Satan whispers to me, “You have no one to care.” I cry to the Lord, “Please take these away, I don’t want these trials, They’re too much today.” My Lord gently whispers, Words to console— “My child, I Love you, And I’m still in control.” I said, “I know Lord, But these trials are tough. My loved ones are hurting, And the road seems so rough.” The trials keep coming, Day after day, I run to God’s Word to see what my Lord has to say. He always speaks sweet peace Straight to my heart, With blessed assurance That He will never depart. I find in his Word That trials must come, To mold me and make me Into the image of God’s son. My Lord suffered for me When he died on the cross, He gave me his all So that I won’t be lost. I find in his Word That we can’t compare Our trials down here To what’s in store over there. Heaven will be grand, When my Savior I meet, I will praise Him for ever, As I bow at his feet. Lord, help me never complain Of what you allow in my life. Whether mountains or valleys, Or trouble or strife. When trials come and You allow a test. Help me to remember That you know what’s best. By: Katherine Schmidt
