Kathleen Parkers article in this mornings paper prompted me to email her a response. She made some pretty false statements regarding true Christianity... Mary is the mediator of all grace. Where in the Bile does it say that? Nowhere. Jesus never told us to worship Mary. On the contrary: Luke 11:27-28 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” The idea of Mary as mediator is nothing more than a corruption of Christianity as people tried to combine their Roman gods & goddesses with Christianity (hence the worship of Mary and saints of this, saints of that). Men, women, and angels are not to be worshipped. I Timothy 2:5 New Living Translation For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity--the man Christ Jesus. Nowhere in the Bible did Mary ask us to worship her. On the contrary: John 2:5 His mother [Mary] said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it. As far as the hierarchy of heaven, who can say what that will be? The only thing I remember reading is that them many of the last in this world will be first, and the first will be last. Yes Mary is blessed among women and worthy of much respect. But not worship. Thats for God and Him alone. Dont you think she would agree? And as far as saints and all this scrambling for sainthood, the Bible says all who have accepted Christ are saints. Not because were good, because HE is good...we are just sinners saved by His grace. Our works mean NOTHING when it comes to salvation. m.host.madison/news/opinion/column/guest/kathleen-parker-pope-francis-offers-fertile-words-on-women/article_f6baa4aa-f09d-5e1d-bf37-c45a44f03d50.html?mobile_touch=true
