Kathmandu, March 18: National coalition for children as a zone peace (CZOP) has urged all not to shut down schools during any kind of strikes. Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the CZOPP appealed to the agitating student organizations and others to allow school opening even during their proposed programme of nationwide strike called for Wednesday. The CZOPP has reminded all of the commitments from the top political leaders and others including the students organizations to abide by the School as a Zone of Peace (SZOP) and not shut down schools during the strikes. “This is the time when 7.5 million students are going to have annual examinations and SLC students are to take the exams within days. This situation and the common sense that strikes have had an adverse impact on learning achievement of students should be kept in mind by all. Therefore it is high time that all concerned sought alternative form of protest rather than continuing with closures of schools,” the statement undersigned by CZOPP chair Bhanu Parajuli read.
